The new musical version of A Christmas Story captures all the beloved moments of the 1983 movie, from Ralphie Parker’s obsessive quest for a Red Ryder Carbine Action BB Gun to the Old Man’s obsessive love for his prized leg lamp. Broadway.com resident artist Justin ‘Squigs’ Robertson is a fan of the film, and it shows in his loving and very complete portrait of the Broadway cast (clockwise from bottom: Dan Lauria (Jean Shepherd), Zac Ballard (Randy), Caroline O’Connor (Miss Shields), John Bolton (The Old Man), Erin Dilly (Mother) and Johnny Rabe (Ralphie). See this sparkling holiday show at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, through December 30.
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
